We cultivate 2,100 hectares of vineyards in the birthplace of Grenache. We have been firmly committed to this variety for decades and are pioneers in its production and distribution worldwide.

It could be said that we are a large winery made up of an infinite number of small plots and this is key to achieving the personality of Borsao wines.

 We prioritize manual harvesting, reaching 50% of the total and always pampering the process above all else.

We are defined by the old and high altitude vineyards of the 375 families of winegrowers that make up the winery. We passionately celebrate the land and the people who care for it.

Extreme vineyard

The Moncayo creates a unique environment for our vineyards, regulating the climate with cold and windy winters with an Atlantic influence, and warm summers with a Mediterranean influence. This thermal contrast helps develop wines with good acidity, vibrant color and pleasant tannins.

The characteristic “cierzo” (wind) purifies the soil and also plays a fundamental role in our wines.

An important part of our vineyards are dry-farmed. This water stress favors the concentration of flavors and aromas in the grapes and is a more sustainable form of viticulture.

Unique variety of soils

We live in an area with an exceptional diversity of soils and altitudes, ranging from 350 to 800 meters. The slopes of the Moncayo provide a steep and rocky terrain, ideal for native Garnacha grapes.

The soils are very different: red clay, calcareous, sandy and stony, with notable variations depending on the area.

This variety of soils and altitudes contributes to the complexity and personality of our wines, reflecting the richness of the land in each bottle.

Our understanding of wine

 Our philosophy focuses on preserving the authenticity of the fruit, using winemaking processes that respect it as much as possible, such as fermentation at controlled temperatures or the moderate use of wood to enhance the character of the grape without masking it.

Our vineyards provide around nine million kilos of grapes that allow us, thanks to the expertise of our technical team, the quality of our facilities and our commitment to innovation, to create wines of different ranges that are always of unquestionable quality regardless of their positioning.

The original cellars of our Cooperatives maintain their cement tanks to produce our best wines. A trend in the sector that in Borsao has always been a basic pillar.

We use more than 4,000 French and American oak barrels of different sizes, allowing a subtle integration of the wood. We work with more than 10 cooperages and different barrel capacities that allow us to perfectly convey the personality of Borsao wines.

We give the importance it deserves to bottle aging, resting our wine in our new facilities with capacity for up to two million units.

All along the way, we rely on the most advanced technology to control all the processes to the millimeter and obtain exactly the desired results.
